CEO and Founder
Serial entrepreneur from the early days of the web. Founded his first internet company in 1998, helped launch eBay in the Benelux, and was involved in early Kijiji development before co-founding a VC-backed marketplace built on big-data infrastructure. Experienced ocean sailor with sea miles equivalent to two global circumnavigations and holds a Master Commercial Sailing Vessel diploma.
Head of Operations
Class 1 Master Mariner Unlimited License with 13+ years at sea. Worked from Deck Cadet through Officer of the Watch on cargo vessels and on to command of some of the world's most iconic large yachts. Studied Maritime Studies in Cape Town, graduating with multiple distinctions.
Lead Data Scientist
Two decades developing data tools across marine science — from deep-sea hydrothermal microbiology to coastal geochemistry and fish stock environmental influence. BEng in Mathematical Engineering, PhD in Oceanography, and experience as Data Engineer, Data Scientist and Director.
Data Science and Frontend
Degree in Ocean Sciences from Dalhousie University. Combines a background in data analysis and ocean research with a love for surfing in and around Halifax. Provides insights that contribute to increased vessel safety and efficiency.
Lead Software Development
Lead backend developer and CTO with 14+ years of data-handling experience, often at early stages with companies like GrandVision, Voetbalprimeur, BALR and Voradius. Academic background in Accounting and IT, Professional Scrum product owner. Leads cloud infrastructure and APIs at OceanSync.
Backend & Embedded Software
10+ years in IoT working on GPS, cellular communication and embedded Linux. BASc from University of Toronto in Computer Engineering with deep background in programming languages and digital system design.

Hardware Development
Co-founded two startups including Maritime bioLoggers, developing sensors for marine wildlife study, later applied to blood transportation systems via Motryx Inc. Previously co-founded Daxsonics Ultrasound. Graduate degree in biomedical engineering focused on high-resolution ultrasonic endoscopes.
Naval Architect
Founder and President of Lengkeek Vessel Engineering since 1981, providing naval architecture for fishing vessels, tugs, barges, offshore supply vessels, semi-submersibles, container ships, ferries and yachts. Former Canadian agent for DAMEN Shipyards. Leads special projects including bias modeling at OceanSync.
