Maritime awareness still depends on what vessels choose to broadcast and what distant sensors can resolve. Ships switch off their AIS. GPS signals are spoofed and jammed at growing scale. Dark vessel detection

Every OceanSync-equipped vessel carries radar — and radar doesn't care what a ship chooses to broadcast. By continuously reconciling onboard radar contacts against received AIS, our network flags vessels that are physically present but electronically silent. Detection happens where it matters: at sea, in real time, from platforms already operating in the area.

GNSS spoofing & jamming detection

GPS interference has moved from rare anomaly to daily reality in several regions. Every current-generation Vortex Edge™ gateway monitors positioning integrity as standard. Our network has detected and documented real-world spoofing events — including coordinated incidents that displaced dozens of vessels' reported positions to false locations far inland — and can flag every AIS message received from an affected region as untrustworthy.

Arctic & remote domain awareness

Where infrastructure ends, our network keeps observing. OceanSync systems have collected data across the Labrador Sea, Davis Strait and Barents Sea, including sustained operations above 74°N. Commercial vessels transit these waters year-round — each equipped ship becomes a persistent sensor in regions where dedicated monitoring is scarce, expensive, or absent.

Working vessels are at sea up to 80% of the time. Coverage that doesn't depend on orbits or overflight schedules.

Radar/AIS comparison and interference detection can only be done at sea level, close to the target. Distance is the problem; proximity is the answer.
